Ministry Purpose / Vision
The Hospitality team does more than serve coffee and tea between services; we seek to foster an environment of love, community, and serving one another. Hospitality Ministry exists at Grace Baptist Church in alignment with Paul’s teaching and action, rooted in Romans-12:13, “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.”
Who we’re looking for
- Ideal for friendly, welcoming people
- Perfect for those who enjoy behind-the-scenes support
- There are roles for high energy people who express warm and pleasant demeanor, yet also for those who want to remain in the background
Time Commitment
The set-up team arrives at church for 8:15am Sunday morning, and begins wrapping up Connection Time around 10:45am. The team usually finished clean-up around 11:00am.
If picking up/purchasing supplies, maximum twice in a month.
Training and Requirements
The training for prep and serving refreshments in this ministry is a minimum of two Sundays (shadowing a current volunteer)
A short prayer and a short meeting of about 10 minutes before the prep time will be ideal for the team
Volunteer Roles Available
Set-up/Clean-up:
- Procure supplies for tea and coffee and cookies, coordinate with team members and prepping trays of cookies/coffee/tea/juice etc.
- Greeting and chatting with the church members, visitors, and everyone you serve
Shopper: purchase (reimbursed) and pick-up supplies for serving (I.e. coffee, snacks, disposable cups, napkins, etc.)
